The Department of Pesticide Science of Agricultural College of South China Agricultural University is the pesticide cultivation talent center and bio-pesticide research and development base in South China. It is the cradle of China's plant pesticide research and talent training, and is the affiliate unit of the National Pesticide Standard Technical Committee. The direction of the Guangdong Provincial Pesticide Standards Committee and the direction of the Pesticide Professional Committee of the Guangdong Chemical Industry Association are doctoral and master's degree programs in pesticide, entomology and biopharmaceuticals. They are postdoctoral research stations for agricultural insects and pest control.

Prof. Xu Hanhong, the academic leader, is a special professor of Guangdong Province, a professor of Zhujiang. He has won the National Excellent Science and Technology Worker, Ding Ying Science and Technology Award, Guangdong Provincial Model Worker, Guangdong Provincial Teaching Teacher, Excellent Key Teacher of the Ministry of Education, Special Government Grant of the State Council, Standing Committee Member of the Academic Committee of South China Agricultural University, and Degree Committee of South China Agricultural University. Member, member of the National Green Food Expert Advisory Committee, member of the Academic Committee of the Guangdong Provincial Key Laboratory of Plant Protection Technology, executive director of the Guangdong Plant Protection Society, executive director of the Guangdong Society of Media Biology and Control, and rodent and health pest control in Guangdong Province The executive director of the association, the first and second-level candidates for the “100 million talents” project in the country, the “Shen Nong plan” candidate for the cross-century talent training plan of the Ministry of Agriculture, and the provincial or provincial leader of the “Thousand Hundred and Ten Talents” talent project in Guangdong Province.
Professor Zeng Xinnian is the director of the school test center and the director of the South China Key Laboratory of Crop Pest Management.
Professor Zhong Guohua is currently the vice president of the Agricultural College. In 2004, he was awarded the National Outstanding Doctoral Dissertation Award and was selected as a provincial-level training target for the “Thousand Hundred and Tenth” Talent Project of Guangdong Higher Education Institutions.
Professor Zhang Zhixiang was selected as the provincial training target of the “Thousand Hundred and Tenth” Talent Project of Guangdong Higher Education Institutions. 3.Representative result
The Pesticide Department have published more than 500 papers in academic journals at home and abroad, including more than 200 papers in SCI, and more than 200 patents, of which more than 100 have been authorized, 16 textbooks and monographs have been published, and the editors of undergraduates in plant protection have been edited. Textbook "Phytochemical Protection" (first, second, third, fourth and fifth editions), "Phytochemical Protection Experimental Guide" and "Biopesticides", "Pesticide Plants and Plant Insecticides" and "Photoactivation" "Pesticide" was funded by the National Science and Technology Academic Publications Fund, and "Pesticide Plants and Plant Insecticides" was selected by the Ministry of Education as the unified recommendation book for graduate education in the country.
Since 2000, the Pesticide Department has won more than 40 provincial and ministerial awards. In the research of plant pesticides, it has won the second prize of National Science and Technology Progress Award, the first prize of National Environmental Protection Science and Technology Progress Award, the second prize of scientific research achievement of China Agricultural Science and Technology Award, the second prize of scientific and technological progress of Ministry of Education Scientific Research Outstanding Achievement Award, China Patent Excellence Award, the First National Invention and Entrepreneurship Award, the First Excellent Invention Patent Gold Award of Guangdong Province, the First Prize of Guangdong Agricultural Technology Promotion Award, the Second Prize of National Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fishery Harvest Award, the Second Prize of Guangdong Science and Technology Progress, Guangdong Natural Science More than 40 awards such as second prizes. The insecticide product “Cocoa leaching powder” won the Guangdong Provincial Excellent Invention Patent Gold Award, the Second Prize of the Ministry of Education Science and Technology Progress, the Tenth China Patent Award Excellent Invention Award and the First Prize of Guangdong Agricultural Technology Promotion Award.

In recent years, the Pesticide Department has undertaken 8 international projects, including more than 40 national-level projects such as the “973” project, the “863” project, the National Natural Science Foundation project, and the National Key Research Program, and more than 100 provincial-level projects.
